Enjoyed my first opera
Ron Beaudrie - Wyandotte

My first opera and I enjoyed it so much; especially the moonlit balcony scene. Very beautiful! And what a beautiful noise.

Delightful Opera!
Bernadette Gladden - Rochester Hills

I did not want the warm, rich sounds of Chacon-Cruz's voice to end. The balcony scene was enchanting. The sounds of the sword fighting were exciting and the choreography in that scene was superb.

The silvery tones of the pretty blonde pageboy were delightful. Kyle Pfortmiller's Mercutio did the role proud. Hope we will be hearing more from them.

Looking forward to next season!

Inspired staging
Steve Kesler - Ann Arbor

I have seen Romeo and Juliet four times recently in four different venues, and the MOT production is by far the best on musical and all other levels. R+J is not the most melodic opera in the world and good staging can help it along, and you did it in spades. Linking of the first and last scenes was particularly inspired. Thanks to everyone at MOT for a great season; we look forward to the next one.

A highlight
Claus Petermann - Clinton Twp

I am impressed with the high quality of all productions of our MOT, which are equal to the MET. Romeo and Juliet was one of the highlights. A relatively unknown opera with a gripping story thanks to Shakespeare. Magnificent staging, excellent singers and a great conductor.

Best opera of the season
Art Rizzo - Highland Park

Beautiful production! Exceptional singing all around. Sensitive & insightful directing. I think that it is, without a doubt, the best opera of the season.
